Day 55 — Welcoming a co‑founder!
Hey guys! Happy to share that we’re welcoming @rashad to the co‑founding team! He’ll be joining us as CTO, and we’ll be working together to build tools that help people document and share their knowledge effortlessly.
He’s been building some cool stuff in the GenAI space — check out his site and articles: https://mfrashad.com/
This Discord server will continue to be an insider’s space. Throughout the journey we’ll keep sharing our lessons, challenges, and experiences. Hopefully some of these help you avoid the same mistakes with your own projects or future startups.
Really appreciate everyone’s feedback, contributions, and support so far! You’ve been amazing — and hopefully you’ve also gotten value from the community in your own projects.
My coding journey
Reflecting on my personal coding journey — it’s been a game changer. Setting up environments, backend, frontend, database architecture, and reading documentation has shaped how I think about software. I’ll likely focus more on product and sales now, but the mental models and fundamentals have been really helpful.
For anyone trying to pick up programming: it’s hard, but not as hard as I initially thought. Once I got past the initial barrier of starting, things began to make more sense and the path to building apps became clearer.
ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot are insane tools for learning anything — and firsthand recommendations from peers, especially early on, were really important. Super grateful to everyone who chipped in ideas.
Moving forward
We’ll likely push out things here before we release them publicly, so please be as brutal/critical as possible with your feedback. Lots of it is going to suck at the start — but through feedback and iterations we’ll build products that are really useful to people.
Feel free to invite friends — ideally people in tech (growth, development, product). Leverage the community to ask questions, discuss ideas, and meet cool people building cool things.
Hoping we can continue to build a supportive, constructive private community here where we can progress together.
That’s about it for today; I’ll let @rashad intro himself in the general channel. Have a great week everyone! (And to those celebrating, Happy CNY!!)
