Day 55 - Welcoming a co-founder!

Hey guys! Happy to share that we’re welcoming @rashad to the co-founding team! He’ll be joining us as CTO, and we’ll be working together in building tools to help people document & share their knowledge effortlessly.

He’s been building some cool stuff in the GenAI space and you should definitely check out some of his Medium articles on his past projects & learnings : https://mfrashad.com/

This discord server will still continue to be like an insider’s space and throughout the journey we’ll continue sharing our lessons, challenges and experiences. Hopefully some of these help you in avoiding the same mistakes with your own projects or future startups.

Really appreciate everyone’s feedback, contributions and support so far! You been amazing & hopefully you’ve also gotten some value from the community too in your own projects.

My coding journey

Reflecting on my personal coding journey, I think it’s been really quite a game changer, having experienced setting up an environment, backend, frontend, database architecture and reading documentation - I think it does shape my thinking a lot around software and although I probably will be focusing more on product and sales now, the mental models of how software works and fundamentals have been really helpful.

For anyone who’s trying to pick up programming - I think it’s hard, but not as hard as I initially thought. Once I got past the initial barrier of starting, things started making a lot more sense & the pathway to learn to build apps gets a lot clearer.

ChatGPT and GitHub copilot are really insane tools for learning anything, though getting firsthand recommendations from peers; especially at the start; was really important and super grateful to everyone who chipped in ideas.

Moving forward

We’ll likely be pushing out things here before we release it so do be as brutal/critical as possible with your feedback on the things we build lots of it is gonna suck at the start though hopefully through the feedback and iterations we build products that are really useful to people.

Feel free to also invite your friends, ideally people in the tech space (could be growth, development, product people). And leverage the community to ask your questions/discuss ideas / meet cool people building cool things.

Hoping we can continue to build a supportive and constructive private community here where we can progress together

That’s about it for today; I’ll let @rashad intro himself in the 🐣┃general channel & have a great week everyone! (And to those celebrating, Happy CNY!!)
